Who is eligible?

The applicant must demonstrate financial hardship. If the average monthly income of the student has not exceeded €812.00 in the last six months (for legally insured students, €934.00), such hardship is considered.

What do you receive?

50% of the semester ticket fee collected as part of the semester contribution is subsidized.

What do I need to do?

Two things:

  1. Submit an application for the determination of financial hardship

to asta-soziales@europa-uni.de along with the following documents:

  1. Enrollment certificate for the WiSe 23/24
  2. Copy of the identity card
  3. If applicable, proof of rent and health insurance
  4. If applicable, proof of income:  Personal income must be evidenced by – Income statements (e.g., BAföG notification, pay slips, pension notifications, housing allowance, etc.) – Evidence of assets (e.g., redacted bank statement, etc.)

The AStA will review the application and, if approved, will send a notification.

Then the student is entitled to a subsidy for the semester ticket and a subsidy for learning materials for 12 months.

  1. Then, for the semester ticket subsidy, a copy of the semester ticket and the notification confirming the financial hardship must be sent to asta-finanzen@europa-uni.de.

These documents must be submitted by December 1st for the winter semester and by June 1st for the summer semester to ensure that the payment for the respective semester’s semester ticket fee can be made.
